Peninsula Temple Beth El is holding a big mah jongg tournament and fundraiser Oct. 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the synagogue in San Mateo. The tournament will include a full day of mah jongg, lunch, snacks and prizes.
Players must be able to complete four games in one hour. Early registration (until Sept. 18) is $45. The cost is $50 afterward, with a cutoff of Oct. 11. All proceeds go to Peninsula Temple Beth El. Registration is limited to 100.
