The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel has been named the “best place to work in academia” outside the United States by the life sciences magazine The Scientist.
This is the third time the Weizmann Institute has been ranked as the top international institution. Readers ranked the J. David Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco as the top institution in the United States.
The Weizmann Institute is a multidisciplinary center that conducts research in medicine, health, energy, technology, agricultural and the environment. It is the only Israeli research center on the magazine’s top 10 list of international academic institutions.
More than 2,000 full-time scientists responded to the ninth annual survey. The results were published in the July 2011 edition of the magazine. They can be seen at http://bit.ly/ldzu1l.
