Sue Maltiel, executive director of Hillel of Silicon Valley, has announced that she will retire effective June 30, 2012. During Maltiel’s eight-year tenure, the Hillel grew from a staff of two to six and transitioned into a bright, new facility in San Jose.
“The support of the community, the absolute love and dedication shown to the students by so many individuals in this community, and the dedication and appreciation of the students are gifts that I feel fortunate to have experienced,” said Maltiel. “Hillel has grown in so many ways, and I am so grateful for the teamwork between the staff, board, community and students that has enabled to happen.”
The board has appointed a search committee to find her replacement; the search will begin just before Thanksgiving.
