The Helen Diller Family Foundation is accepting nominations of outstanding teenagers for the 2012 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards. The $36,000 prizes are given annually to five teens deemed exceptional role models in their communities, who have designed or developed social action projects.

Candidates must self-identify as Jewish, be California residents ages 13 through 19, and be nominated by teachers, community leaders, rabbis or anyone other than a family member. Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 6, 2012.

The foundation, established by Bay Area philanthropist Helen Diller, has given more than $200 million to charitable projects over the past 10 years. For information or to nominate a teen, visit www.jewishfed.org/diller/teenawards or call (415) 512-6437.
