Dr. and Mrs. Victor Garfinkle of Alameda are celebrating their 70th anniversary on Jan. 1, 2012. They were married in 1942 in the bride’s parents’ living room in Oakland in a ceremony officiated by Rabbi William Stern. Vic and Henri will celebrate with their children, Richard Garfinkle (Karla Green) and Susan Block (Rabbi Rick), four grandchildren and spouses, nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews at Shabbat morning services at Temple Sinai, Oakland, on Dec. 31.
