Congregation Beth Ami in Santa Rosa will present a free, five-part seminar on modern anti-Semitism, beginning with a lecture by Rabbi Jerry Danzig titled “Overview: From California to the World” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15.
Subsequent lectures will include a Jan. 29 discussion of anti-Semitism on California campuses, presented by U.C. Santa Cruz professor Tammi Rossman-Benjamin and professor Leila Beck. Nancy Appel, associate director of the Anti-Defamation League’s Central Pacific region, will speak Feb. 12 on “Responding to U.S. Anti-Semitism.”
The series concludes Feb. 26 with a discussion of “Arab State-Sponsored Sources of Modern Anti-Semitism,” presented by two representatives from JIMENA, Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa, Rachel Wahba, a member of the speakers’ bureau, and director Sarah Levin.
