Tiburon’s Congregation Kol Shofar and San Rafael’s Congregation Rodef Sholom and Osher Marin JCC have joined forces to bring Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson to the Marin Jewish community next weekend as scholar-in-residence.
Artson is the vice president of Amer-ican Jewish Univer-sity in Los Angeles, where he is also the dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. He is a regular columnist for the Huffington Post as well as the author of 10 books.
Artson, whose focus is theology, ethics and the integration of science and religion, will take part in programs April 20 at Rodef Sholom starting at 5:45 p.m. and April 21 at Kol Shofar starting at 9:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. He also will give a lecture at 9:30 a.m. April 22 at the Marin JCC. All events are open to the public and free, aside from a Shabbat dinner for which a fee will be charged.
Kol Shofar has canceled its Friday night services so that people can attend the services and community dinner at Rodef Sholom.
