Walnut Creek’s Congregation B’nai Shalom has four days of art and celebration planned from Thursday, May 10 through May 13, as the synagogue hosts 1,500 pieces of art by more than 100 Israeli artists. The art for exhibition and sale comes from the Safrai Fine Art Gallery in Jerusalem.
The festivities, which are open to the community, will begin with a family-friendly “Israeli-style” Lag B’Omer celebration and art sale from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 10 featuring music, stories, falafel, and s’mores around a bonfire, in addition to a chance to view the collection.
An evening reception 7:30 to 11 p.m. May 12 will celebrate “Havdalah and the Arts,” with appetizers, music, desserts, wine, and a raffle. Cost is $10 per person.
The gallery will also be open to the public for viewing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 13. Congregation B’nai Shalom is located at 74 Eckley Lane in Walnut Creek. For more information, call (925) 934-9446.
