Incorporated by the State of California in 1871, this is the oldest Jewish community between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. As Petaluma’s inclusive Jewish community, it welcomes all who wish to pursue connection to Jewish community, to spiritual teachings of Jewish tradition, to Jewish cultural expressions and to Jewish educational experiences for adults, youth and children. Programs include Gan Israel Preschool, Shabbat Connect (pre-K through grade 6), Hebrew language classes (grade 5-6) and b’nai mitzvah preparation. Partners with Moving Traditions, a nationally recognized coming-of-age program for teens. Offers weekly Shabbat morning services, holiday services and  biweekly Friday evening services, along with opportunities for study, including Torah and visiting scholars.
