B’nai Israel was incorporated in 1871 and today is a vibrant Center for Jewish Life. As Petaluma’s inclusive and diverse Jewish community, the Center welcomes all who wish to pursue connection to Jewish community, to spiritual teachings of Jewish tradition, to Jewish cultural expressions and to Jewish educational experiences for adults, youth and children. Programs include the Gan Israel Preschool, and a comprehensive youth education program for kindergarten through 8th graders including b’nai mitzvah preparation. Offers weekly Shabbat morning services, holiday services and programs, along with opportunities for study, including Torah, Talmud and Kabbalah. Other programs include “acoustic cafe” music events and concerts, Jewish comedy night, Young Adult mixers, social action, Israel action, and an online and in-person gift shop.
