Established over 20 years ago, this is the nation’s first family camp for Jewish LGBTQ families. Keshet, Hebrew  for “rainbow,” is an innovative weekend drawing a broad range of participants from all over the country.  Participants bond with old friends and make new ones in a rustic summer camp along the Tuolumne River at the doorstep of Yosemite. Adults spend the morning hiking, relaxing and engaging in a variety of dynamic workshops.

Trained counselors plan age-appropriate activities for babies as well as kids, ranging from boating on the lake or singing camp songs, to participating in teen dialogues about growing up with gay parents. Families spend the afternoon together, enjoying classic camp activities like arts and crafts, swimming in the pool or conquering a challenge course. Activities include a Shabbat service, family talent show and lively dance party.  Financial assistance available.
