Congregation Etz Chayim
A community of around 350 households, with people of diverse beliefs and backgrounds: singing, learning, praying and celebrating. Labels such as Reform, Conservative or Reconstructionist are inadequate to describe this creative organization. Community-created prayerbooks, used for egalitarian, participatory services, incorporate a variety of Jewish traditions.
Those steeped in Jewish tradition or new to it will feel comfortable and challenged to learn more. The congregation is large enough to offer the expected religious, educational, and social options, while remaining small enough for everyone to learn your name. Congregants include members of traditional, interfaith, single parent, same sex and blended families who represent a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds, political affiliations and geographic diversity. Check the calendar for a schedule of service and events.
Join Friday night or Saturday morning for a service, come by to help celebrate a festival, or drop in any time during the week to talk to staff and tour the building.
Rabbi Chaim Koritzinsky leads weekly Torah study at 9 a.m. Saturdays. An outstanding youth education program serves students ages 18 months to 18 years, and there are extensive adult-learning opportunities. Special interest groups include hiking, singing and book discussions. Like an extended family, members actively support each other and celebrate together.
