Provides burial and interment options for all Jewish people and their loved ones. Offers traditional ground burial of caskets and urns, mausoleum entombment, cremation niches, and an on-site chapel for up to 150 guests. Depending on location, upright monuments, flush grave markers and memorial benches are available. Open for visitors and mourners between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to Friday. Closed on Saturdays and Jewish and federal holidays. Accessible through the front gate of the historic Mountain View Cemetery at the top of Piedmont Avenue. This nonprofit Jewish Cemetery and Mausoleum opened in 1865 by the founders of Temple Sinai Oakland (formerly First Hebrew Congregation). The entirety of the grounds are now owned and operated by Sinai Memorial Chapel.
