Magen David at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens
After more than 10 years in development, a new consecrated Jewish cemetery within Monte Vista Memorial Gardens is now open in Livermore. The first new Jewish cemetery established in Alameda County in more than 100 years, it was created to serve the entire Jewish community regardless of degree of observance. The landscape design includes Star of David–shaped trellises and walls inspired by the temple wall in Jerusalem.
Phase 1 is expected to be completed in approximately two years and will include funeral home facilities, a mikvah for the taharah ritual washing ceremony and a pavilion with a kosher food preparation area. Phase 2 sales are expected to begin in approximately 18 months. Traditional and green burial options are available.
Located in the foothills of Livermore, between the North Livermore Avenue and First Street exits off I-580.
