Ba'al Bonfire Judah Alvarado

Hosts Havdalah and bonfires spring to fall, plus winter activities. Creating connections by building community.  Bonfires are free; winter activities are priced to just cover costs, if any. Bonfires and other events give people a chance to gather and meet, but not in a “meat market” setting. People can sit up close to the bonfire in the light and interact, or sit back if they are shy or feel like observing. People can make friends with others they might not have a chance to meet otherwise. Bonfires have different themes every month, including singing, storytelling, Feasting Around the Fire and the Bonfires of Reflection for the High Holy Days.  Locations shift between San Francisco and the East Bay.

Winter activities include Havdalah and sea chanteys with the National Park Service, storytelling events, viewing improv shows and snow/hot springs trips. Singles, couples, families, teens, kids and seniors welcome.  A place where Jews of all levels of observance, as well as non-Jews, can come and be comfortable.

Now hosting online Zoomfires for Covid safety.
