About 1,200 people attended an event honoring Yukiko Sugihara at New York's Town Hall on Nov. 14, the day of the book's release.

Also, through a grant provided by the California Council for the Humanities, the Holocaust Oral History Project presented four workshops on Japanese Americans and Jews in 1994 and 1995. They were held in San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Fresno. An exhibit has been circulating around the United States and in Japan.
