Beth Shalom offers kashrut tips Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | March 15, 1996 Rabbi Alan Lew will discuss the history of kashrut, with anecdotes from his experience helping congregants kasher their kitchens. Betty Newman, who writes the Jewish Bulletin's Joy of Jewish Cooking column, joins a panel of Beth Sholom congregants who will explain when and why they decided to take this step of observance. A question-and-answer session and activities will round out the workshop. Options include a field trip to a supermarket or a cooking demonstration with Newman in the Beth Sholom kitchen. The synagogue will provide pamphlets on keeping kosher and a bibliography of cookbooks and sources. For information, call the synagogue at (415) 221-8736. J. Correspondent Also On J.
