Original rock show to premiere at Beth Am

"Esther," an original rock musical by Cara Freedman, will premiere at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at Congregation Beth Am, 26790 Arastradero Road, Los Altos Hills.

Twenty-three children ages 8 to 17 from Beth Am star in the show, directed by Cantor Kay Greenwald. Tickets are $5. For information, call (415) 493-4661.

Singles' dinner series begins March 31

Professional Jewish Singles presents a series of six vegetarian dinner lectures for singles ages 35-49. Titled "Food for Thought," the series, which runs from March through August, features discussions with Rabbi Gedalia Meyer of San Jose's Ahavas Torah.

The first lecture, titled "God: The Jewish Version," takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 31 at a private home in San Jose. Cost is $15 in advance, if paid by mail, or $20 at the door.
