Swig histories for time capsule

Israel Bonds selected the Swigs because of their participation in many Jewish organizations over the years.

Richard Swig's father, Benjamin H. Swig, was one of the founders of Israel Bonds and its Northern California chairman from 1951 to 1979.

Richard Swig is a national officer in American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a life member of the National Commission of the Anti-Defamation League, and a member of the board of trustees of the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine.

He serves on the board of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation and was its 1994-95 campaign chairman. He is chairman of the Northern California chapter of the American Society for Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, a member of the board of trustees of the Northern California chapter of the American Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and board member of Jewish Museum San Francisco and Jewish National Fund.

Roselyne "Cissie" Swig has been Israel Bonds' associate national chairman since 1984 and general chairman of the Northern California campaign during 1982-83.

She serves on the executive committee of AIPAC, the governor's advisory board of the California-Israel Exchange, the national board of directors of United Jewish Appeal, and the international board of governors of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. She also is former president of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation.
