S.F. summit on politics of meaning to run May 29 and 30

Also speaking will be a number of civic leaders, including California Assemblyman John Vasconcellos (D-Santa Clara), Ruth Brinker and Wilson Riles Jr.; environmentalist Paul Hawken; religious activists Cathleen Cox McCarroll, the Rev. Jim Lawer and Lewis Woods; and journalists Ben Bagdikian, Isabel Alegria and Bill Wong.

Sessions will address "Business, Labor and the Economics of Meaning"; "Family Values and the Future of Relationships and Child Rearing" and "God Doesn't Belong to the Right."

Other topics will include "Racial Justice and the Politics of Meaning" and "Trickle Down Crime and Exploitation in American Society."

An introductory session open to non-registrants will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29. Working sessions for registrants will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 30.
