Parenting classes begin

Parents Place announces its June workshops, beginning with New Mother/New Baby, which begins at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30 and continues for eight sessions through July 25. Cost is $80.

Single Mothers with Children Under 3 starts at 7 p.m. Monday, June 3 and continues through July 22. Single Mothers with Children Birth to 6 begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 4 and continues through July 23. Either is $115 for eight sessions.

Choosing a Preschool will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at a cost of $15 per person, or $25 per couple.

Effective Discipline follows at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at the same price.

Working Moms and Babies will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15 through Aug. 3. Cost is $80 for eight sessions.

Parenting an Older Baby begins at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20 and continues for eight sessions through Aug. 15. Cost is $80.

Choosing a Kindergarten convenes at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 20 for $15 per person, or $25 per couple.

The Dad's Connection (newborn-6 years) begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22 and continues through Aug. 10. Cost is $80 for eight sessions.

Sibling Rivalry (newborn to 6 years) meets at 5 p.m. Monday, June 24 and July 1 at $30 per person, $50 per couple for two sessions.

Using the Public Schools takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27 for $15 per person, $25 per couple.

AIDS commemoration work day in June

Jewish Family and Children's Services will hold a day of commemoration for victims who have died of AIDS and those who are living with HIV/AIDS, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at the AIDS Memorial Grove in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

Participants will plant seedlings and trees, pull weeds and help with general renovations. A healing circle will take place at 11:30 a.m. For reservations, call (415) 561-1274 by Tuesday, May 28.
