Rubin is a civil rights attorney and assistant director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area. He also is vice president of AJCongress' Northern Pacific Region.

Jewish library elects board

The Friends of the Jewish Community Library of the S.F.-based Bureau of Jewish Education announce the election of new board members and officers.

Mark Jansen is president, Linda Lerman is vice president, Elizabeth Mester is secretary and Jeffrey Keyak is treasurer.

New board members include Murray Baumgarten, Bruce Burnam, Rabbi Helen Cohen, Rena Frantz, Ruth Ellen Jacobson, Renee Weinreb, and Irwin Wiener.

Continuing on the board are Ruth Auerbach Levin, Jonathan Bornstein, Jethro Busch, Elayne Grossbard, Lois Hirsch and John Rothmann.
