Jews have long put a stamp on American life. With that in mind, during the Bureau of Jewish Education’s “Feast of Jewish Learning” next month, Marin philatelist and author Ron Eisenberg will share tales about “American Jews in Stamps.” They include (clockwise from left) Jack Benny, the Three Stooges, Marilyn Monroe, the Marx Brothers, Danny Kaye and Gertrude Berg. The stamps themselves come from throughout the world. Eisenberg, who has written a book on the topic, will tell the stories behind the stamps, his efforts to track them down and their subjects’ contributions. The free event takes place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the BJE Jewish Community Library, 1835 Ellis St., S.F. Information: (415) 751-6983, ext. 132, or [email protected].
