Jewish meditation retreat in December Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | November 30, 2012 The Bay Area Jewish Mindfulness Meditation Retreat has been scheduled for Dec. 20-27 at the Pema Osel Ling retreat center in Corralitos in Santa Cruz County. Instruction will be provided by Zvi Bellin of Moishe House, Chochmat HaLev in Berkeley and Nehirim, and Rabbi James Jacobson-Maisels of the Pardes Institute. The retreat will include meditation and be “held by the container of silence,” according to event materials, which means participants will refrain from talking to one another, although there will be group prayer, verbal instruction, question-and-answer periods and individual meetings with teachers. Yoga will be offered most days. The conference is sponsored by Or HaLev — Center for Jewish Spirituality and Meditation, along with Moishe House, Chochmat HaLev, Hazon and FJC: A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. Kosher food will be provided by 12 Tribes catering. Costs range from $690 per person in a four- to six-person room to $1,200 for a deluxe single.
