More than 300 students and faculty gathered on the Stanford University campus on Dec. 11 for a Chanukah celebration that included the lighting of an 8-foot-tall ice menorah. Sponsored by Chabad at Stanford, the event was attended by several university dignitaries, including president John Hennessy, who participated in the lighting and spoke to the crowd about the lessons of religious freedom. Rabbi Dov Greenberg, director of Chabad at Stanford, also addressed the gathering.
