Old shul music

On the last night of Chanukah, the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley will host a concert of Old World Jewish music, “Pomegranates and Figs.” San Francisco–based Inspector Gadje will fill the room with the sounds of a dozen horn players and three percussionists; the Oakland Folkharmonic will draw from its wide repertoire on string instruments; and Veretski Pass will play music from the cultures of the Ottoman Empire.
