Allan Richards (aka Richard Aptekar, left) and Lauren Mayer

Eat, drink, laugh, and save the world

A benefit show for victims of Hurricane Sandy will bring together three dozen comedians, musicians, singers and other performers to an Italian restaurant in San Francisco’s Lakeside Village (it’s not next to a lake and it’s not really a village, but we digress) for an afternoon of belly laughs and warm hearts. Jewish performers will include comedian Allan Richards (aka Richard Aptekar, one of the organizers), singer-entertainer Lauren Mayer and comedian Jeff Applebaum.

2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 at Villa D’Este Restaurant, 2623 Ocean Ave., S.F. $20 entry and $20 food minimum. http://benefitforsandy.brownpapertickets.com
