G-dcast, an S.F.-based nonprofit, has created a new children’s ebook for the Jewish New Year and brought back eScapegoat — a quirky website where people can cast off their sins — for a second year.
“Wake Up World,” an illustrated ebook about Rosh Hashanah, enables kids to hear the shofar blasts (shvarim, teruah and tekiah g’dolah) by touching their device’s screen or blowing into its microphone. The program features the voice of Randi Zuckerberg.
The eScapegoat program is a new and improved version of a similar effort last year. It encourages users to prepare for Yom Kippur by offloading their sins to an animated goat. The sins then are shared anonymously through social media.
