Correspondent | March 27, 2015 Jewish Family & Children’s Services of the East Bay is looking for volunteers to join its grassroots community of individuals who give their time and energy to help others. Clients include isolated seniors, newly arrived immigrants, disabled adults and disadvantaged children. JFCS seeks to make matches that are emotionally and intellectually satisfying for both clients and volunteers. Opportunities include: • visiting a homebound senior or Holocaust survivor • assisting an elderly individual with errands and small household chores • providing ongoing assistance to or hosting a recently arrived LGBTI refugee • helping a newly arrived refugee learn conversational English (Contra Costa County only) • being a homework tutor for refugee youth (Contra Costa County only) • driving someone to medical appointments or special community events • delivering kosher Shabbat and holiday meals to clients For more information, visit www.jfcs-eastbay.org or call (510) 558-7800.
