Correspondent | April 10, 2015 Nominations are now being accepted for the Bay Area’s 2015 Anne and Robert Cowan Writers Award. The annual award recognizes local emerging writers of fiction, memoir or graphic novels who have made an aesthetic impact. The award, made possible through an endowment fund at the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation, comes with a $5,000 prize. Awardees must be published Jewish writers who reside in the Bay Area, are “highly regarded by their peers and readers,” and “include positive Jewish themes in their subject matter and refer to Israel in a supportive and constructive manner.” The Anne and Robert Cowan Writers’ Fund was established in 2004.
