Correspondent | May 15, 2015 San Francisco writer Molly Antopol, author of “The Un-Americans,” won a silver medal in the 84th annual California Book Awards competition, the Commonwealth Club announced. “The Un-Americans,” Antopol’s first short story collection, received the silver medal for first fiction. The eight stories explore the lives of Jewish immigrants in New York and in Europe. The author, who teaches writing at Stanford, will be honored at a 6 p.m. June 1 ceremony at the Common-wealth Club, 555 Post St., San Francisco. The event is followed by a book-signing.
