The Center For Kosher Culinary Arts ended its professional training programs last month.

The center in Brooklyn, New York, which trained more than 500 people during eight years of operation, will continue to offer recreational cooking classes to the public, Kosher Today reported. However, the CKCA website as of early this week showed no classes on the schedule beyond January.

The center was the only kosher cooking training school outside of Israel, Kosher Today reported.

Founder Jesse Blonder told Kosher Today that he “would regroup and search for ways to continue training chefs in this age of high demand for kosher chefs.” Without elaborating, sources told Kosher Today that Blonder “had come under increasing pressure from state vocational education authorities.” — jta
