San Francisco’s community Yom HaAtzmaut celebration drew 1,700 people to Congregation Emanu-El on May 1 to wish Israel well on her 69th birthday. Hosted by the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation and the Jewish National Fund, along with Emanu-El, the evening included Israeli food, a performance by the Maccabeats, and a presentation of JNF’s work in Israel. An after-party for young adults was held at Neck of the Woods, with Israeli music by DJ Or Tregger.
