“Finding Kalman,” a 30-minute documentary about Holocaust survivor Anna Jacobs and her family, will air locally at 11:30 p.m. April 7 on KQED Plus, in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Anna Jacobs was a teenager during the Holocaust. The film tells how she inspires her children and grandchildren with stories of her brother Kalman, a mischievous boy who tried to escape the Warsaw Ghetto with her. The 2011 documentary moves from archival footage in Poland, to summers in a Catskills, N.Y. ,bungalow colony, to the present-day family in Florida, Maryland and Israel, revealing how four generations grapple differently with their shared history.

The film will also air on World, the 24/7 multicast channel, throughout the month of April.
