Help provide Passover cards and matzah to East Bay residents who are homebound or lack the means to celebrate the holiday, which begins April 22 this year.
Jewish Gateways Compassion & Justice: Jewish Tools for Social Action has identified three ways for adults and families to assist Jewish Family & Community Services East Bay in serving these individuals.
By April 18, JFCS needs 100 decorated Passover cards for those receiving food deliveries, as well as boxes of matzah and other dry, kosher-for-Passover foods to help fill the food bags.
On April 21, JFCS needs drivers to pick up bags of Passover foods at the JFCS Berkeley office and deliver them to between three and five homes in the area. Children are welcome to assist in making these deliveries, which take place from 3 to 5 p.m.
For more information, call Jewish Gateways at (510) 410-0622, or you may arrange to drop off items at JFCS’ Berkeley office, 2484 Shattuck Ave., Suite 210.
