Hosts Havdalah and bonfires from spring to fall, with additional winter activities. Builds community by creating meaningful connections. Bonfires are free; winter activities are priced to cover costs, if any. These gatherings offer a chance to connect in a relaxed, welcoming setting – never a “meat market.” Participants can sit up close to the fire and engage, or step back to observe if they prefer. The space fosters new friendships between people who might not otherwise cross paths.

Bonfires feature monthly themes, including singing, storytelling, Feasting Around the Fire and Bonfires of Reflection for the High Holy Days. Locations alternate between San Francisco and the East Bay.

Winter activities include Havdalah and sea chanteys with the National Park Service, storytelling events, improv show viewings and snow or hot springs trips. Singles, couples, families, teens, kids and seniors welcome—a space where Jews of all levels of observance, as well as non-Jews, can feel comfortable.

Occasionally hosts online Zoomfires for COVID safety.

The Omer Project is a YeaShOre program. Participants gather on the numbered avenues of the Sunset and Richmond districts to count the Omer, meeting on the street corresponding to the appropriate day.
