Home of Eternity Cemetery and Mausoleum
Located just inside the gates of Oakland’s historic Mountain View Cemetery, Home of Eternity Jewish Cemetery and Mausoleum offers a full range of burial and interment options. Jewish community members and their loved ones may choose traditional ground burial for caskets or urns, mausoleum entombment, or cremation niches. Depending on the section, upright monuments, flush markers, and memorial benches are available. The onsite midcentury chapel seats up to 150 guests and provides a dignified setting for funerals, memorial services, and moments of reflection. Established in 1865 by the founders of Temple Sinai Oakland, the cemetery has served the Jewish community for more than a century. Now owned and operated by Sinai Memorial Chapel Chevra Kadisha, the grounds feature mature trees, historic markers, and thoughtfully maintained pathways that honor generations of Jewish life in Oakland. Open Sunday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on Saturdays and Jewish and federal holidays, this nonprofit cemetery welcomes visitors, mourners, and all who seek a quiet place of memory, comfort, and connection.
