Find a connection to the Hebrew language, Jewish holidays and Israeli culture in a joyful educational and professional environment. Strengthen the family’s connection to Hebrew along with children’s language skills. Weekly classes for K-12th graders each school year, aligned with local district calendars.

Immersive Hebrew-language program for K–12th graders nurtures connection to the Hebrew language, Jewish holidays and Israeli culture. Weekly classes follow local school calendars and are offered in partnership with ICC @ the Oshman Family JCC. At the Foster City branch—part of the PJCC Jewish Life Department and in partnership with the Hebrew Department of Wornick Jewish Day School—students speak and understand Hebrew, build friendships with other Hebrew-speaking children and celebrate Israeli culture and Jewish traditions. Parents and siblings join in classroom celebrations and community-wide events, creating a sense of shared belonging. More than a language program, Beged Kefet* is a welcoming home for the Israeli community.

*The name Beged Kefet comes from the six Hebrew letters that are emphasized (or in Hebrew, a dagesh) when they appear at the beginning of a Hebrew word or syllable.
