Julia Hernandez Nierenberg is a Jewish Latina who grew up in Oakland and attended high school at the Bay School of San Francisco. She recently graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in international relations and Spanish language studies, and is back living in Oakland where she is the program and speakers’ bureau coordinator for Be’chol Lashon.
