Kassel, who also is outreach committee chairman, said, "In order to make certain that Jewish voices are heard, we must have strong representation in both major political parties. It would be great for the Republican Party and for Jews alike to have more than one Jewish Republican senator and three Jewish Republican congressmen."

Four of the 30 members of the San Mateo Republican Central Committee are Jewish, including David Steirman, a board member of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Federation.

Kassel was president of the Peninsula-based Jewish Social Club, a board member of the Young Adults Division of the JCF and co-chairman for Super Sunday.
