Following lunch, a panel will discuss "Who We Are: American Jews at the Millennium." Participants will include Elliot Brandt of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Pacific Northwest region), Rabbi Doug Kahn of the S.F.-based Jewish Community Relations Council and East Bay Community Rabbi Zari Weiss. At 7 p.m. the program will move to the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center, 2071 Tice Valley Blvd., Walnut Creek. Goldberg will speak on "Politics and the Media: ABC, MTV, CNN and Election 2000." Goldberg is author of "Jewish Power: Inside the American Jewish Establishment." He is a New York correspondent for the London Jewish Chronicle and a contributing editor of the Israeli news magazine Jerusalem Report. The annual event has been previously known as the Contra Costa Kallah and Women's Education Day. Co-sponsors include B'nai B'rith Golden Pacific region, B'nai Shalom and B'nai Tikvah sisterhoods, Beth Chaim Congregation, CCJCC, Diablo Valley Hadassah, Lehrhaus Judaica, National Council of Jewish Women, Women of Isaiah, plus the Israel Center and Women's Division of the East Bay federation.
