The Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley will debut a series of new exhibits in September. Premiering Sept. 27 at the museum’s soon-to-open new space at 2222 Harold Way will be “The Atheon: A Temple to Science.” Displayed in the museum windows, this work by artist Jonathon Keats depicts NASA-generated imagery of the early universe.
Opening the same day at the Magnes’ facility at 2911 Russell St. is “Meta/Data” by artist Nomi Talisman. The project provides visitors to the Magnes Web site with a nonlinear navigational web interface that will artistically interpret the museum’s collection.
Opening Sept. 28 will be Memory Lab, an interactive installation that allows visitors to create digital family albums, and “Projections,” consisting of multimedia works from the museum’s collections of archival, documentary and experimental films.
