In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the landmark documentary “Shoah” has been re-released in crisp, 35 mm form and will be screened at two Bay Area locations starting Saturday, Feb. 5.
Claude Lanzmann’s 1985 film shows no historical footage but instead focuses on in-depth interviews with Holocaust survivors. The nine-and-a-half hour film will be shown in two parts at each venue.
It will play at 1 p.m. Feb. 5 and 6, and
11 a.m. Feb. 13 (with a one-hour intermission) at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, 701 Mission St., S.F. Screenings at the Pacific Film Archive, 2575 Bancroft Way, Berkeley are at 11:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Feb. 20, and 5 p.m. Feb. 26 and 1 p.m.
