“Eco-art” projects such as building chandeliers from reclaimed buttons and beads, making dolls from old CDs and plastic water bottles, or building a mosaic bench made from salvaged tiles are encouraged at the Osher Marin JCC’s Center for Early Childhood Education.
Resident artist Gina Musser saves reclaimed and reusable objects destined for landfill to teach young students about art and ecology. Musser works with children ages 2 to 6 during the school year and children up to age 10 during the summer programs at the San Rafael facility. Center programs also include storytelling, music, movement and baking.
