The Nueva School meets the unique needs of pre-kindergarten through eighth grade gifted and talented children in the Bay Area. Founded in 1967, Nueva emphasizes integrated studies, creative arts, differentiated and experiential curricula, and social-emotional learning. Through a progressive approach, Nueva builds a passion for lifelong learning, while connecting academics to the real world. The student-teacher ratio of 8:1 allows the faculty to meet individual needs and encourage intellectual risk-taking. Students learn to hone their analytical skills and experience how joyful and meaningful education can be. The Nueva School prepares children for a world in which collaboration, resilience, and innovation are increasingly vital.

Learning by doing extends to Nueva’s 33-acre wooded campus that provides many opportunities for outdoor education, imagination, and design thinking. Green buildings include a state-of-the-art Media Lab, library, café, and Innovation Lab. Through a partnership with Stanford University’s Design School, Nueva’s I-Lab is the first K-8 engineering and design thinking program of its kind. Extracurricular opportunities include a variety of team sports, art, drama and music instruction, Japanese, Spanish, and Mandarin language programs, as well as national and international student trips. Bus service is available for San Francisco and South Bay families.

Nueva families are supportive of each other, the school, and of the wider communities and neighborhoods to which we belong. We celebrate individuals and value the diversity of our families, community, and our world. Caring and inclusivity are part of the daily fabric of Nueva life, and a benefit to our children.
