Rabbi Menachem Creditor of Congre-gation Netivot Shalom has recorded “Within,” his first solo CD, which will premiere at a release party and concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Berkeley synagogue.
“Within” is a seven-track CD featuring four original songs by Creditor and the debut recording of “V’asu,” a song that the late composer Debbie Friedman wrote for the 2005 dedication of Netivot Shalom’s new synagogue facility. All proceeds will support the building fund.
Creditor, who has collaborated on several other CDs, says the overarching theme of “Within” is that “relationships are sacred, the relationship with God begins by looking someone else in the eye.” Performers on the recording include Cantor Jennie Chabon of Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Walnut Creek, Julie Batz of Coastside Jewish Community and Netivot Shalom rabbi emeritus Stuart Kelman.
The release concert will feature Creditor and guest artists. Suggested donation is $5. CDs are available for $10 at the concert and in the synagogue office, 1316 University Ave., Berkeley. For information, call (510) 549-9447.
