Correspondent | January 27, 2012 The author of “Holocaust Survivor Cookbook” will tour area Chabad houses to talk about her book’s creation and its stories. Joanne Caras will speak to women in Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, San Jose, San Francisco, Los Gatos and Vacaville between Feb. 5 and 9. “The Holocaust Survivor Cookbook” is made up of recipes and stories from all over the world. For two years Caras and her family collected them from survivors, publishing the book in 2007 to benefit Carmei Ha’ir soup kitchen in Jerusalem.
