The Jewish Historical Society of Napa Valley is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a nighttime gala and an Israeli movie the next day.

The festivities will begin with wine and cheese at the Caldwell Snyder Gallery in St. Helena from 7 to 8 p.m. April 5, then shift over to the historic Cameo Cinema for a live show with comedian Jeff Applebaum and storyteller Suzanne Kleid.

The gala costs $50, with some of the profits helping to launch a Napa Valley Jewish film festival in 2015. The film, “A Matter of Size,” about overweight Israelis who take up sumo wrestling, will begin at noon on April 6. Cost is $12.

Tickets are available at www.cameocinema.com or by calling the theater at (707) 963-9779. For more information, visit www.jhsnv.org or call (707) 738-6537.
