Life-affirming book party. The posthumous publication of Kathi Kamen Goldmark’s “Her Wild Oats” will be celebrated in an evening of readings and signings by authors Amy Tan, Sam Barry and Susanne Pari. Goldmark, who died in 2012, was the arts and culture director at the Oshman JCC. Her final novel is described as a “honky-tonk road story” about an unlikely friendship between a Jewish woman who leaves her cheating husband and a 13-year-old harmonica-playing prodigy. 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at Book Passage, 51 Tamal Vista Blvd., Corte Madera.
