The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley is inviting the public to a gala evening in honor of its 40th anniversary.

The event will include dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions to support JCC programs.

The Addison-Penzak JCC traces its roots to 1974 in San Jose, although it didn’t have its current name until moving to Los Gatos in 1984; a grant from Arnie and Cookie Addison (whose maiden name is Penzak) helped purchase a 9-acre campus. The JCC’s current building opened in 2005, with funds for construction from Gloria and Ken Levy, Eli Reinhard and many other donors. It includes a fitness center, basketball gym, auditorium, classrooms and space for several other Jewish organizations.

The event is set for 6 p.m. Nov. 15. Tickets are $118 through Sunday, Oct. 12; after that, they go up to $160. For more information, visit www.SiliconValleyJCC.org/gala or call (408) 358-3636.
