After undergoing major renovations to its synagogue, Congregation Beth Shalom in Napa will unveil its new building in a dedication ceremony at Shabbat services on Nov. 7.

It took more than 12 months to complete the remodel, which included gutting the original building to make room for a second floor, adding 5,700 square feet and making the building ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible. During construction, Beth Shalom held services and events in nearby facilities, including a church and a women’s club.

The dedication will start at 7 p.m., and excited Beth Shalom members have issued an open invitation to the Jewish community, whether from Napa or beyond. Rabbi David Ellenson, chancellor of  Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, will be a guest speaker, and a “festive oneg” will follow the service.

“The dedication and 60th anniversary gala [on Nov. 8] are really major milestones for the Jewish community,” Beth Shalom Rabbi Lee Bycel said.

Beth Shalom is located at 1455 Elm St., Napa. For more information on the dedication, the anniversary gala and other related events, visit www.cbsnapa.org or call (707) 253-7305.
